Magnesium Alloy Scrap Vacuum Gasification—Directional Condensation to Purify Magnesium

Magnesium alloys, known as a “21st-century green engineering material”, are widely used in many fields, including during the production and consumption of magnesium alloys die-casting products such AZ91D, AM50, AM60B. In addition, large amount waste is generated, which not only pollutes environment but also wastes secondary resources. Hereby, we reported vacuum gasification—directional condensation method, calculated vapor pressure separation coefficient parameters, drew gas-liquid phase equilibrium diagram depending on distillation temperature, system for volatilization process. The results showed that under following conditions (distillation temperature: 1073 K, pressure: 100 Pa, 873 duration: 30 min), yield could approach 93.76%, purity reach 99.98%. This research good theoretical practical basis recovery alloy using gasification method.
